The opening of the coal terminal at the port of Ust-Luga is an important event not only for the region, but for the entire country. We became part of this story by taking on the task of organizing and covering an important federal event with the participation of the Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Yuryevich Drozdenko and leading media of the country. This project became a valuable experience for us working at a large federal venue and confirmed our readiness for tasks of this level.
Project goal:
The client tasked us with providing stable and high-quality video broadcasting to the screen during the official opening of the coal terminal. It was important to avoid technical failures, delays and guarantee a high level of performance. In addition, it was necessary to prepare a summary video based on the results of the event.
What we did:
The project began with technical planning and distribution of tasks among team members. We selected experienced specialists: a director, four operators for static cameras, a steadicam operator, a technician, a coordinator and a broadcast graphics specialist. We inspected the location in Vistino rural settlement, including the plant territory, to assess conditions and identify potential difficulties.
One of the main tasks was to ensure broadcasting to screens without failures, with high-quality picture in 1080p format. For this, we used professional cameras Sony PXW-FS5, PXW-Z90, PXW-X70, a three-axis stabilizer Ronin RS4 Pro. We also broadcast from a car.
We organized a mobile broadcast control panel. One camera was allocated for shooting the summary video.
For high-quality and reliable broadcasting to the screen of how a cargo ship departs from the port, it was necessary to lay 2 km of fiber optics across the plant territory to the control room, the screen itself and the entire main venue. But the plant management did not approve these works for reasons of secrecy. We found a way out of this situation and offered an alternative option that suited the client! We implemented a preliminary recording of the ship solemnly leaving the port with a horn signal, and on the day of the broadcast we displayed it synchronously with the same action. The audience was delighted and did not notice the substitution of the real action with a recording online.
The team carried out installation and setup of equipment, test runs, and on the day of the event conducted broadcasting to the screen with constant quality control. Despite bad weather and a high level of responsibility, we coped with the task, ensuring stable operation of all systems and the successful holding of the event.
Result:
During the implementation of the project to broadcast the opening of the coal terminal at the seaport of Ust-Luga to screens, we achieved all set goals. The event went exactly on schedule, without technical failures, and the quality of image and information presentation met high standards. The well-coordinated work of the team made it possible to create a professional broadcast that emphasized the significance of the event.
The project became another confirmation for us of our readiness to implement tasks with a high level of responsibility. We strengthened our position as a reliable contractor for large events in St. Petersburg, the Leningrad region and beyond. The client was satisfied with the result.
