What is restream.io
Restream.io is a cloud service for conducting broadcasts and webinars simultaneously on multiple platforms.
The service was launched by two entrepreneurs from Kyiv in 2015. Six years later, using restream conduct 8 million broadcasts monthly, and the number of viewers has exceeded 600 million people.

Multistreaming
The main function of the service is multi-stream broadcasting.
Let's take as an example a webinar taking place in our studio. We connect video cameras to a capture card — a device that receives the signal from the camera. The capture card, connected to a computer, transmits the image to vMix — a broadcasting program. From vMix, the signal goes to the restream.io server. The server duplicates the signal to several platforms: YouTube, VK, Facebook, — wherever the client's target audience is.
Unified Chat Window
For business, it's important to maintain contact with its audience, but answering questions from viewers coming from different platforms is inconvenient. That would require a group of community managers to monitor broadcasts and respond promptly to user comments.
In restream.io, all incoming messages are visible in one window: VKontakte, Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms. You can also reply to user comments here.
Unified Statistics Window
The service tracks all broadcast metrics in one window. You can see how many people are watching the broadcast on Facebook, which YouTube user left the most messages, and at what time the peak viewership occurred.

Individuals
In restream.io, you can broadcast directly from the browser. You only need a webcam.
Moreover, users can invite viewers to their broadcast: assign them as hosts and hold remote conversations.

The service is compatible with major broadcasting programs: OBS Studio, XSplit, and importantly, vMix, which is used in our studio.
Why we use the service in our studio
Earlier, to simultaneously stream to YouTube and VKontakte, we had to separately create different channels and send the signal to them.
Now our engineers have less headache. The signal is sent directly to the company's servers, and from there to the necessary platforms. At the same time, the service itself connects backup communication channels and reduces the likelihood of freezing or disconnection of the broadcast.
With the help of the service, broadcast engineers monitor bitrate, frames per second in real time, and can respond promptly to changes in these parameters.

At the studio, you can rent a premium restream.io account. This plan allows you to send the signal to 10 platforms supporting the RTMP protocol. The service automatically records the broadcast and reduces video quality if internet speed suddenly drops.
The cost of the original tariff is $99 per month. A day of rental at the studio costs 2,500 rubles, two days — 4,000, and three days — 5,000.
