Online broadcast— is a complex process that includes many components working together to achieve the best result. Each of these components can be considered as a separate tract. Let's look at the main ones – internet, cameras, sound and switching, and how they affect the quality of your event.
Tract 1: Internet
For a successful online broadcast, it is critical to ensure a reliable internet connection. "It is important to achieve the best result not only in receiving but also in transmitting the signal," notes the technical directorof our studio. Before leaving, we thoroughly study the mobile network coverage area, and on site we confirm the operator choice. If necessary, we use a booster antenna to improve the signal.
To ensure maximum stability, we can connect Bonding, which allows using four mobile operators at once. "It would be great if there is a backup wired internet on site," adds our technical director, emphasizing the importance of having backup channels.
Tract 2: Cameras
The camera is the 'eye' of your broadcast. We always use cameras that are powered from the mains and transmit their signal via wire to the control room. This ensures a reliable and high-quality picture.
Nevertheless, there are situations where urgent necessity leads to the use of wireless signal transmission systems. We always adhere to the highest quality standards and will later tell you about the equipment that allows us to do this.
Tract 3: Sound
Sound is an integral part of anybroadcast. From the mixer, the sound goes through an audio capture card, where it is adjusted and fed to the broadcast. If remote speakers are participating in the broadcast, we add their sound through an audio card to the mixer.
Proper sound setup is critically important to ensure clarity and transmission quality.
Tract 4: Switching or signal transmission
Switching is the moment when all signals come together. "The Nipple system is not for us," says our technical director, because we prefer to use first-class technologies. When we need to pick up signals from cameras over a long distance, for example, 300 meters, we use SWIT-C300 senders, which easily handle this task.
The signal from the receiver goes to the control room, where the capture process is completed using an AJA IO 4K video capture card. If you need to output a presentation or a remote speaker's webcam to the screen, there will be no problem: from the encoding encoder we direct the required signal source to the screen processor and independently control the selection of what will be displayed.
